Hesed is a Christian-led women's organization seeking to empower women through the Word of God. We are also many more things: We are a platform for women to interact, learn from each other, and grow in their lives as they grow in God’s glory. We are a movement aiming to share the teachings of God and how to apply them in everyday life. We are a safe space for them to unburden and get a listening ear and a shoulder to lean on.

Founded by Cheila Lopez and operating from New York, Hesed prides itself in being a Bible-based, interdenominational faith ministry. Cheila Lopez, brought up in a Christian life, has been a pastor’s wife for nearly three decades with a big heart for women and children. She is a social worker, combining her work, passion, and faith to enrich the spiritual lives of women while assisting them in improving their quality of life. She started Hesed to unite as many Christian women as possible in understanding the faith and love of God.

Fast forward, and now Hesed’s mission has never been so impactful. We are confident we can make every woman feel welcomed, trust she has a place to come for Godly inspiration and feel motivated to keep pushing forward with her dreams and visions. We endeavor to help keep her head held high, her beliefs unshaken, and her actions aligned with God’s Word, especially in this modern world. We want to assure her we have her back and she has a trusted community of Christian sisters to rely on when she needs it the most.

As part of the initiative to meet our mission, we organize an annual 5K leisure walk meant to spur mature conversations around the scripture while sharing how God has worked through our personal and professional lives. Known as the Walk in Series, each year has a theme topic to be discussed, such as Walk in Obedience, Walk in Love, Walk in Faith, etc. A broad range of women aged across teens, young, mature, and elderly adults are gathered, randomly paired, and walk a mile while engaging in the selected topic. After the mile, the pair pray together, and each calls a contact to encourage them. Since we are all united in being intrigued by the power of God, we believe that through these discussions, we are seeking and knowing Him more, and in response, He will reveal His knowledge, wisdom, and kingdom. The process is then repeated for the two remaining miles.
Above all, Hesed is committed to empowering women, encouraging them, sharing wisdom, and journeying together into a mission that’s bigger than us. We trust that by reading, understanding, and interpreting the Bible, we can love, obey and enjoy God and all He represents.
